About Us

MISSION STATEMENT
Portage County Youth Soccer
Stevens Point Soccer Club
Central FC Select

OUR CLUB aspires to share, grow, and teach the game of soccer to all in and around Central Wisconsin. We foster the love of soccer through the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game in fun, challenging yet appropriate levels of competition. We are dedicated to create well-rounded, healthy athletes in an environment where all can live up to his or her full potential on and off the field. All those involved with OUR CLUB should encourage and demonstrate good sportsmanship and fair play in a positive environment.

Playing Soccer in Stevens Point
Hello soccer enthusiasts! So, you’re interested in what soccer offerings are available in Stevens Point. PCYS and Stevens Point Soccer Club offer three options for players. Each one caters to a certain level of player, and offer great learning and growing experiences. Here is some general information about each of the three levels.

Recreational League Play
Recreational soccer is a great avenue for players to enjoy participating in soccer. Teams are organized by age, and teams compete against players and teams from Stevens Point. For a lot of players this is an introduction to the game, and the expectation is for players and parents to enjoy the soccer experience. The recreational league season is a summer season, and teams will just play locally at the PCYS soccer complex.

Classic League Play
Classic league play is a more competitive avenue for playing soccer. Stevens Point Soccer Club (the competitive club of PCYS) is a member of the Central Wisconsin Soccer League. Classic teams will play teams from Marshfield, Waupaca, Wisconsin Rapids, Wausau, Rhinelander and Eagle River. Teams will also play in a few tournaments to expose the kids to better competition and chances to grow. Classic teams might also participate in indoor leagues/tournaments and practice year round. This is a great opportunity for the player looking to participate in a more competitive environment who wants to learn more about the game, practice and play more throughout the year, and be challenged to grow.

Select Team/League Play
In 2006, Stevens Point took another step in developing advanced playing opportunities. Select teams are designed for the most serious and advanced players. The expectation is that these teams will compete in the state leagues (first division or premier), or other classic leagues outside of Central Wisconsin. These teams will also compete in tournaments when they are eligible (some are eligible all year, others have to abide by WIAA rules), and are expected to be training and playing year round.

PCYS, Portage County Youth Soccer, is affiliated with Wisconsin Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer, and was formed to organize, advance, and foster the sport of soccer for youth in Portage County.

PCYS has grown over the years to a membership of over 500 players in the Recreational League and 300 players in the Competitive and Select Leagues.

PCYS is a non-profit organization which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
