The purpose of the Central FC Select Tryouts

The purpose of the Central FC Select Tryouts is to create teams that will compete at the highest levels possible in and around the State of Wisconsin. Players from around the state are invited to participate in the tryouts. Most Central FC players come from Waupaca, Marathon, Wood, Oneida, Winnebago and Portage Counties.  

Central FC Select teams will apply for State League. If not accepted, they will play in the CWSL along with scheduling "friendly" games and scrimmages against higher level competition throughout the year. They will also play in tournaments year round and will apply to play in the Wisconsin State Championship Tournament. Fees for the team will not change whether or not the team is selected for State League play.  

Players select what age group they are trying out for. If a player tries out for an older team and is not selected, the player may either be offered a spot on a B team at the older age group (if there is one) or to play at their age level if a spot is available. Players must have parent consent to play up in age.  

Player notification

Players will be notified within 72 hours of the final tryout or call back if a roster spot on a Select team will be made available to them. All Parents and players will receive notification by either phone or email from a member of the PCYS Competitive Committee.

The purpose of the Central FC Select Tryouts

In order for a chosen player to be assigned a roster spot on a select team, parents need to respond by either email or mail to the offer within 2 weeks of notification. Within the notification timeframe and as part of the acceptance of a roster spot, a signed Financial Agreement and first payment should be mailed to: PCYS, PO BOX 906, Stevens Point, WI. 54481.

Fees

Fees for Central FC Select teams will be between $500 and $800 per player, per year. The fee will include all PCYS club and Select team fees. The exact amount will be team specific and determined by the following:

·         Number and location of tournaments the team intends to play (not including 3v3 or other small sided tournaments)

·         Number and location of away games planned

·         Any other planned team training activities (Indoor league play in Appleton for example)

Coaches

The coach for each team will be decided once teams have been established. All coaches will have at least 5 years of competitive coaching experience and/or at lease D level coaching license.

Select Play offers the most challenging playing and learning environment with quality coaching from all over Central Wisconsin.  

Tryout Fee:  All Forms must include a $20.00 non-refundable tryout fee. Players will not be allowed to tryout without payment and registration form.

Player Fees:  Players who have been selected and accept to play for a Central Select team must pay half of the select player fees within 2 weeks of written notification of selection.  The written notification will be a “Select Participant Financial Agreement” specific to Select team player is being placed on.   Each player will have final player fees between $500-$800/year, based on season/league play and number of tournaments.  Player Fees include: player registration, league play, tournaments, coaching fees, and equipment fees.  Players will be responsible for hotel, travel, and indoor league play.

Club Fee:  There is a $100 Club Fee for each PCYS family.   This fee is due at the mandatory January Player/Parent meeting.  PCYS will offer an activity for those families who wish to offset the cost of the club fee.  Information will be available later regarding this activity. 

Uniform Fee:  Approx. $75-$90.  All players will need to purchase a uniforms if they do not possess one already.  A complete uniform consists of two jerseys (home & away), shorts, and a pair of socks.  Uniform fee is due when uniform order is placed.

Volunteering:  10 general hours plus 2 hours/adult/tournament are required for every Stevens Point Soccer Club family.  Required club participation is addressed in the Parents Handbook.  The Handbook can be found on the PCYS website and is updated annually. 

Fundraising:  PCYS asks all families to participate in fundraising activities it runs.

Required forms/information:  Once a player is notified of being selected and accepts roster placement they must submit the following forms/information to be eligible:  1) 1”x 1” player photo, 2) Birth Certificate (if you are new to the Stevens Point Soccer Club), 3) Completed WYSA Release of Liability and Medical Treatment Statement forms, 4) Code of Ethics/Parental Code of Conduct form, and 5) Financial Agreement.  Junior High students also need to sign a waiver regarding school soccer play.

Tryout Dates:  Players interested in Central FC Select are REQUIRED to attend all Tryout dates. Players will be invited for a callback date based on performance at initial tryout session.  Players must bring a colored and white shirt with a number on each, and have all proper playing equipment, including a ball and water/liquids.

Refunds/Termination: 
Refund of the Player Fee will be made only under the following circumstances: 1) a season ending injury occurring before the first game of the season, and results in the player being medically ineligible for 12 months, or 2) the player's family moves out of the area before the first game of the season.  Uniform Fees will not be refunded once a player has received his/her uniform.  Any player not complying with fee payment dates can be removed from squad and not allowed to play for Central Select, PCYS or the Stevens Point Soccer Club in future years until obligations are satisfied.
